In the Boa region of South America, Mantel troops were dispatched to liberate the country from a rebel group known as "the Promise Hand" led by Paulo Guerra which was accused of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity by Mantel's mass media division. However after Mantel's defeat by the rebels in the region, word got out by members from inside the corporation that Mantel was performing several war crimes and that their motives and methods were unethical. Mantel was mandating a drug called "Nectar" which Mantel stated was a medical fast acting antibiotic drug but in reality was a hyper performance enhancing drug developed by the Company to enhance the effectiveness of its personnel. Not only that but it was found out that the drug had damaging psychological effects in prolonged Nectar use eventually becoming potentially fatal if the Nectar use continued. More information was released that the reason Mantel was focusing on these rebels in Boa was because of the resources in the region to produce Nectar which increased profits in the company. All of this combined with several other war crimes put the company out of business and several of the top executives in the company were either arrested or fled to unkown locations.
