1 jan 1676 ano - Bacons Rebellion 1676
Descrição:
Bacon's Rebellion was an uprising of indentured servants, led by Nathaniel Bacon, against the governor of Virginia, William Berkeley. The rebellion was caused because governor Berkeley refused to do anything to prevent Native American attacks on frontier settlements, and he was angry that Berkeley was favoring other members of the court. The result of the uprising was a significant decline in the number of indentured servants in the American colonies, and the coinciding rise in slavery as a form of forced labor. William Berkeley was recalled back to England.
