After the 19th amendment was passed and women finally got their right to vote, a new era came about in woman’s rights, the equal rights amendment. This amendment was proposed by Alice Paul for the first time in 1923. It stated that everyone should be treated equally and given the same rights under the constitution. This amendment wasn’t officially passed until 1972, but it all started here in 1923. But, women were still making big strides and getting more rights, especially politically.
