Garibaldi's big win alarms Cavour that Garibaldi will want to start his own republic, so Cavour urges Emmanuel to deal with Garibaldi, but instead they end up fighting together to conquer the Papal states. In the end Garibaldi ends up handing over Sicily and Naple to Victor Emmanuel as a sign of good faith.
