The European SIngle Market was created to fuel economic growth inside the EU by creating a easier way for goods and services to be exchanged. This has resulted in the EU being the largest economy in the world

It has improved efficiency, helped weaker economies flourish and helped cut prices for consumers as well as removed barriers that were holding back the economic and politcal potential of the European Union

Not only are the 27 member states a part of the European Single Market but also Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the Agreement on the European Economic Area, and Switzerland through bilateral treaties

To this day it remains one of the biggest successes of the European Union.
