1. Some students and workers went on the streets and they were asking for freedom, food, and the removal of the secret police
2. When they announced that HUngary would withdraw from the warsaw pact the soviet union went to hungary to restore order and ended up killing thousands of people
3. When the soviets were in Hungary about 200,000 fled to the west leaving everything that they had behind and the order was restored in Hungary in November
