The first use of atomic weapons on humans, the bombing of Hiroshima was intended to force Japan to surrender. The effects of the bomb were devastating, destroying everything except for a few concrete buildings. Hundreds of thousands of Japanese people were killed and if you weren't killed instantly you were extremely burnt and were exposed to tons of radiation. This "demonstration" showed the world how powerful and dangerous technology can really be.
