What it Was: A proclamation issued by the British following the French and Indian War that drew a boundary between the colonies and Indian country. It prohibited Anglo-American colonists from settling on lands acquired from the French after the war. It created three new mainland colonies: Quebec, East Florida, and West Florida.
How it Led to Revolution: The proclamation angered colonists because it prohibited them from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. This anger led to resistance, rebellion, and boycotts.
