20 jun 1944 ano - First Man-Made Object
In Space
Descrição:
During World War II, various engineers were experimenting with rockets in the hopes of creating a weapon that could be fired from hundreds of miles away.
On 20th June 1944, a test launch took place in Germany whereby a rocket known as MW 18014 was fired into the sky. This rocket reached a height of 47 miles (176 km) into the air, crossing what's known as the Kármán Line. The Kármán Line is the agreed-upon barrier between Earth's atmosphere and outer space, making the MW 18014 rocket the first man-made object in history to leave planet Earth.
