He's been seen wearing the bespoke suits of a moustachioed art dealer, but it looked like it was time for Johnny Depp's Charles Mortdecai to get rough and ready on the set of his new movie.

The actor was spotted carrying a gun while filming a new scene in the cinematic adaption of Kyril Bonfiglioli's 1970s crime trilogy.

With the pistol in hand, Johnny still looked the debonair art connoisseur, but clearly Charles' story veers into the criminal underworld.
