In 1968, with Gustavo Diaz Ordaz in the Mexican presidency, a group of students held a protest march in plaza de las tres culturas de Tlatelolco in Mexico City on October 2. To disolve the movement, Díaz Ordaz ordered an attack against the protestants leading to thousands of deaths.
