On May 6, 1998, Steve Jobs launched the first major consumer product of Apple. The iMac was an instant success which changed Apple from being doomed to the super company that it is now.

The iMac was created for everyday people who simply just wanted to get onto the internet as fast as possible. The systems release price was $1229, making it a cheaper more buyer friendly option than the original Macintosh.

This system was also able to run programs such as Adobe creative suite allowing more people to use programs like photoshop and aftereffects. As these programs became more accessible, more people started to create content . Pushing a shift in graphic design and opening up the space for people who weren't trained.
