King Philip’s War was the result of Native Americans coming together to face their European enemies. King Philip, or chief of the Wampanoags, had united a group of tribes in the southern New England colonies to counterattack on encroaching English settlers. Although it was a devastating loss on both ends, the Native Americans had demonstrated their power and will to join in order to protect themselves.
