Rodney king was one of the first widespread, public cases of police brutality against the black community. Despite being caught on video, the officers involved were ruled innocent by an all white jury. The result of this were violent riots taking place mainly in Los Angelos. This was one of the first violent uprisings after decades of peaceful protests.
