Descrição:
The Sherman Antitrust Act passed by Congress prohibited the creation of creations of contracts, combinations in the form of trust or restraints to commerce. Citizens of the middle-class were concerned the amount of power the trusts had and people with old wealth felt threatened by the rise and influence of new wealth. The Supreme Court ruled that it could only be applied to commerce and not manufacturing in the case of United States v. E.C. Knight Co.
