A Polish trade union. Polish workers underwent a large strike, demanding rehiring of their fired colleagues, raises, religious freedom, and freedom of expression. The government attempted to instate martial law in hopes of dismantling them, but they ultimately failed. Solidarity was openly against communism, and is considered a large factor in the fall of communism in Poland.
