14 set 2015 ano - LIGO & Rainer Weiss & Kip Thorne
Descrição:
In early 2016, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory reported that they directly discovered and observed gravitational waves back in 2015. The wave pulse was detected when two black holes merged about 1.3 billion light-years away.
Many had attempted and partially succeeded in recording gravitational waves, but none have concretely recorded and discovered it until now. The fact that they exist proves many of the basic rules and fundamentals. Also, we no longer have to rely on electro-magnetic radiation, we can now detect objects using the more accurate gravitational waves. EMR can be affected by many things before it gets to us, and as we get further and further away from us, GW become more and more accurate than EMR.
