Descrição:
This Act was passed by Congress to limit the power of unions. However, Truman since Truman was very opposed to organized labor when first elected president, he lost support for the Congressional elections and the Republicans gained control of Congress. Consequently, Truman vetoed this Act, in order to regain the public's support, but Congress overrode the veto and it became law. The significance of this Act is that Truman's opposition to it enabled him to get elected by holding the New Deal coalition together and pursuing a more accommodating stance towards organized labor.
