An Evangelical Protestant preacher, the Reverend Billy Graham preached about the unhappiness caused by personal sin. He held sermons at huge outdoor crusaded in baseball parks and large arenas which were broadcast on television. Television spread his religious teaching into millions of homes. The significance of Billy Graham is that he spear headed Americanism as a national religion and laid the foundation for the future establishment of the Christian Right and the Moral Majority.
