The Medicine Lodge Treaty was signed on October 21, 1867 that affected five plains tribes: Kiowa, Plains Apache, Comanche, Cheyenne, and Arapho. Under this treaty these five plains tribes were forced to move to reservations in Indian Territory and assimilate with American culture. But the plains tribes refused to go peacefully resulting in a war.
