The Sugar Act included many different things that changed the taxes and regulations on items such as sugar. The first thing the Sugar Act did was reduce the rate of tax on molasses from six pence to three pence. The second thing was for the British Navy to become more active in custom enforcement. The third thing was to include sugar, certain wines, coffee, pimiento, cambric and printed calico, and further, regulated the export of lumber and iron to be taxed.
