John White tried to make a settlement on Roanoke Island which resulted losing his daughter and granddaughter along with the other 121 member of the ship. Later in 1590 John retierd to Ireland losing hope of his dream in America. Although he lost hope in America he didn’t lose hope on his granddaughter. John’s granddaughter was the first English child born in America.
