The peace treaty that ended the Thirty Years War and stopped the counter reformation as it also sealed peace for Germany. It granted each German state the ability to declare its own religion and dissolved the Holy Roman Empire politically, freeing many different states in Germany.

(COMPARISON) This treaty proves more important than acts such as the Edict of Restitution—a mid-war decree that declared all church territories secularized—because it finally ended the war and ultimately gave Germany an avenue for restoration, albeit lengthy and arduous restoration.
