10 jan 1920 ano - League of Nations
Descrição:
The League of Nations was an international organisation founded by Woodrow Wilson on the 10th of January 1920. It had 42 founding members while only 24 were still members by the time it was dissolved by the United Nations in 1946. The League of Nations goal was to prevent war through collective security. They wanted to settle disputes between rivalling countries through negotiation. The League of Nations wanted to essentially stop fighting between countries but failed their primary purpose causing the Second World War to take place anyway. The league had lasted for 26 years but failed due to an inability to do much of anything. This was because they had suffered an absence of almost all-important major powers that would have been capable of preventing the war. Germany, Japan and Italy left entirely while the U.S. hardly had any participation.
