During the 1300s there was many military sanctions led by the Latin Roman Catholic Church. Based out of Europe the Crusades were led by people known as crusaders who would do everything in their power to protect the church. People joined the crusades as an act of finding an eternal place in heaven. Many of the things they specifically did were in reclaiming land that belongs to the church, specifically Jerusalem.
