12 jun 2013 ano - Beautiful Games: skate Southbank forever
Descrição:
The Guardian Online
The Undercroft at the Southbank Centre has been central to London’s skateboarding scene for nigh on 40 years, but the prospect of redevelopment is threatening to close the public space and disperse the characters who skate there. Photographer and enthusiast David Gould has captured a range of portraits of individuals who use the space and, by hanging 25 of them in situ along the graffiti-strewn walls, he’s created a backdrop to the park which is expressive and rich with personality. The close proximity and detail of the portraits serve as a forceful reminder of the skaters’ shared identity and collective resistance. The exhibition was assisted by Inside Out Project, which was started by the French artist JR to promote communal photographic art.
