Nationalism, Militarism, Alliance System, and the following of "the shot that rang throughout Europe" (Assassination of Ferdinand) started the first great war also known as World War I. Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia and Germans declared war on France and Russia. The Triple Alliance and the Triple Etente was formed. Wilhem II took over German crown from Otto von Bismark.
