The Emir Abdullah took his army to Wadi ’Ais and from there he could still cover Yanbu while being in a position to attack the railway. In the first days of the new year, Feisal led his army northwards from Nakhl Mubarak. His force included 1,200 tribesmen of the Agayl and also members of the Juhayna, the Harb and the Billi.
