This was a conflict between North Vietnam and and the Viet Cong forces. North Vietnam turned its focus to the city of Saigon. This being the official end to the Vietnam war because south Vietnam was forced to surrender.
This was important to the vietnam war because after the Paris Peace Accords were signed and helped a temporary end to the battle between the north and the south, this was the official end to the Vietnam war and the war between the north and the south.
