It appears as though after Jeremiah's avalanche of national condemnation for seeking after the gods of the surrounding nations, is now backed up by the newly found copy of the Law of Moses buried within the Temple.
Jeremiah even goes so far as to say in 8/8 that the copying of the Law, as transcribed by Yahweh to be followed by all the Kings of Israel as they came to power (Deut 17/18), had been so corrupted over time that the copies available now were nothing but lies and traditions made up by the priests and scribes generally.
8 “How can you claim, ‘We are wise;
the law of the Lord is with us’?
In fact, the lying pen of scribes
has produced falsehood. -- Jeremiah 8:8 (CSB)
This is borne out by Josiah's reaction, when in 2 Chron 34/14-19 the Book of the Law was found in the Temple and read before him, that he 'rent his clothes' in reaction because of the difference between that which Yahweh wrote and the 'lies' which were being proffered now under the guise of righteousness.
