Dalton was a British chemist who lived from 1766 to 1844. He came up with Dalton's Postulates, explanations for the Law of Conservation of Mass, the Law of Definite Proportions, and the Law of Multiple Proportions. He also theorized that the atom looked like a billiard ball.
