(Term 4) The Book of Mormon was translated from reformed Egyptian by Joseph Smith, Oliver Cowdery, Emma Smith, and Martin Harris in 1830 using the Urim and Thummim.

1. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and has helped millions of people turn to God and be welcomed into His restored church.

2. Before this translation, the church and the priesthood did not exist. Because of the Book of Mormon, church leaders and priesthood holders were restored to the earth

3. The book's purpose is to prepare us for the second coming and give us personal guidance and revelation
