A spokesman for the British Prime Minister's Office said British Prime Minister Teresa May met with Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua to talk about the recent demonstrations in Hong Kong against the amendments of the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance. May stressed that the China must respect the rights and freedoms set out in the Sino-British Joint Declaration.
