In response to the data leakage incident, the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong stressed that health care practitioners must comply with the privacy code and that none of them had received requests from the police for patient information in the system; even if the police had made such a request, it would not be in compliance with the data access principle and the authority would not provide it.
