The President of the New York City Bar Association, Roger Juan Maldonado, wrote to Hong Kong's Chief Executive, Carrie Lam, expressing concern about the Hong Kong Government's proposal to amend the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance and urging the government to withdraw the amendments and consider other ways to plug existing legal loopholes.
