A number of human rights organizations in Taiwan demonstrated outside the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office in Taipei to protest the Hong Kong government's plan to amend the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance, which removed provisions in the Ordinance that do not apply to other parts of China, in effect equating Taiwan with part of China.
