The European Parliament passed a resolution on Hong Kong calling on the Hong Kong government to release the demonstrators, completely withdraw the amendments to the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance, set up an independent commission of inquiry to investigate the use of force by the police, and call on the European Union and the international community to implement export controls to prevent China and Hong Kong from acquiring technology that violates fundamental rights.
