ILEARN and the Title III Part A revisions were signed off on by Governor Holcomb

ILearn was designed to take the place of ISTEP standardized testing. It was being improved to add more languages than Spanish to provide assessments. Over 270 languages are spoken in Indiana with 71.2 percent of the minority speaking Spanish. The goal is to have every student's native language available for testing and assessment .
The title III revisions include applying consistent screening to all English learners to determine their elegabiltiy of a title III grant. The ESEA will provide assistance when needed and ensure the students will have the technical assistance needed to gain proficiency and move out of the program.
