This event was a day of massacre of French Protestants. Religious and political rivalries errupted and overcame and peaces held before the event. Catherine de Médicis planned this and had Roman Catholics carry out the actions. Catherine hoped that this event would diminish feuds between the sides, but in reality it only mae them worse.
