Elliot has many struggles.

1. He is a pacifist who wants to settle everything peacefully and objects the use of violence against others. However, 90% of the kids in the border camp are trained as child soldiers.

2. He is struggling with getting his crush to like him, as well as finding out what and who he really likes. He still is finding out more about his sexuality.

3. He is very bad at making friends, so he has to try to get used to being good to others.

4. He has some family issues.
