On a "field trip", Elliot's teacher takes them to an empty field where a giant wall stood. A lady had asked the students if they could see the wall, but only Elliot could. The lady tells Elliot that only certain people can see the border and cross it, and Elliot was one of those special few. He was invited to come to a magical land, and since he didn't have much to come back to, he decided to go in.

However, his teenage years aren't so easy and he encounters the fact that he has to go through being a teenager.
