12 h 19 m, 4 maio 1970 ano - Kent State shooting

Descrição:

The above picture is one of the most famous pictures taken at the shooting. The girl in the picture is 14 year old Mary Anne Vecchio kneeling and screaming next to the body of Jeffrey Miller, who threw a tear gas can back at the soldiers, and ended up getting shot through the mouth. Four students ended up dying, and others were injured. Only 2 of the victims were protesting the war, while the other 2 were just on their way to class.
Nixon sent soldiers to Kent State to keep the violence down, because someone burned down the ROTC building as a way of protesting the Vietnam war. A few of the soldiers thought they heard gun shots (most didn't) and started shooting real bullets, instead of rubber bullets.
