Interaction - The bubonic plague was spread from the Yunnan region of China and remained dormant as it was passed on from infected rodents to fleas. In 1331, an epidemic killed 90% of the population in Hebei province, and during the 1350s, epidemics started to break out in scattered regions of China. Mongols, merchants, and travelers spread the disease along trade routes during the 1350s to the west.
