On September 11, 2001 8:45 a.m. American Airline Boeing 767 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. Every one, in shock as to what just happened could only think of one cause for this horrible accident and that was that someone had made a horrible mistake. 18 minutes later at 9:03 a.m. United Airlines Boeing 767 crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. In fear many started to realize this was no accident but a terrorist attack. 2996 lives were lost that day. The attacks were traced back to Osama bin Laden leader of al-Qaeda and this was the start of the war on terror. On September 20, 2001 President George Bush said, "Our war on terror begins with al-Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated."
