The success that was Ronald Reagan's presidency allowed his vice president "H.W. Bush" to easily defeat Michael Dukakis. His presidency provided mixed bag of results, while he was able to handle foreign issues such as the Gulf War, George H. Bush wasn't quite able to pull the U.S. out of the recession that would occur in the late 80s to early 90s.
