Deputies approached a group of four people in the parking lot outside Dick's Sporting Goods. One of the people was allegedly wanted on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was a person of interest in a shooting that happened three weeks prior in the Pine Hills neighborhood. Salaythis Melvin ran and a deputy shot him in the back, killing him.
