When Will was 13 years old his family was living in hard times because England's wool trade collapsed. Will's father wasn't making money out of his wool business. John didn't have any choice because he had to support his family so he became a brogger. A brogger is someone who sold wool illegally. Will's father stopped going to church because he was afraid that he was going to run into people he owed money to.
