The Avro Arrow was a highly advanced Canadian-made fighter jet being developed to intercept and destroy Soviet bombers before they reached cities. After spending 2 years in development and pouring millions of dollars into the project, the Canadian government decided to cancel the development and ordered all prototypes destroyed because the project was costing them too much money.
