Vaudeville was a theatrical form descended from music hall shows and minstrelsy. Vaudeville had become the most important medium for popularizing Tin Pan Alley songs. The Vaudeville shows generally traveled around and had some aspects of minstrel shows with other acts such as comedy and magic.
