The Kansas-Nebraska Act created the territories of Kansas and Nebraska, and drew a line across the Iowa Reservation, they became known as the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska.
In August, first Masonic Lodge in Kansas is formed at the home of Matthew Walker. Wyandot Lodge #3 is still in existence. (WNO)
